Things NIE eEDITION teachers do:
- Have students send sponsor a thank you letter
- Sign and return affidavit twice a year
- Students must participate in Design an Ad
- Scan eEDITION for content before using with students
- You may share the username and password with students

You are requesting a grant for “sponsored” NIE eEDITION Herald-Leaders. This means you’ll be an NIE teacher and the entire cost of your NIE eEDITION order will be paid for by a business assigned by the NIE program.
RULES and an agreement for NIE teachers receiving sponsored eEDITION:
Sponsored eEDITIONS are for teacher and student use.
Once you submit this grant request you will be notified within 5 business days with a username and password. (If this doesn’t happen e-mail kjohnson1@herald-leader.com to ask about it.)
Each day you will be sent a reminder e-mail.
NIE Teachers are required at the end of each semester to sign and return an affidavit (not applicable to Adult Ed centers or GEARUP). NIE will email an affidavit to you at the end of each semester. This is for our mandatory auditing purposes. It shows our auditors that NIE sent business-paid eEDITIONS to your computer and they were received by you and used with students.
Second semester all NIE students must thank their business sponsor by participating in Design an Ad (not applicable to Adult Ed centers or GEARUP). The packet of materials will be emailed to you in January. This project is for all the students that use the eEDITION to complete. The ads students design are a way to thank the business that pays for your eEDITIONs. NIE will notify you of your sponsor information to use with these ads. The Design an Ad tab will be published in the Herald-Leader in May. All ads submitted to NIE will be sent to the sponsor. Ads are judged and prizes are awarded.
Show your appreciation and send your sponsor a thank you note twice a year. Have students send artwork and notes too. Keep in touch with NIE. WE love to hear your stories about using eEDITION.
